The Fishguard tourist information centre is located in the Town Centre and just outside the port on the Quayside Ocean Lab complex.

In the middle ages, Pembroke ferry port was strategically important. It was one of the main ports for travelling to Ireland and boasted a castle that was one of the strongest fortresses in the kingdom. Both the town and the castle developed and were fortified together. Pembroke ferry port is located on the South Western tip of Wales & offers close access to the M4 motorway. The sole operator on the Pembroke route - Irish Ferries operate a twice daily service from Pembroke to Rosslare.
